The show it originated from involves tech control forcing people into this pose and outfit. While it may be a niche theme it is similar to the zombie pose in that anyone doing said action is assumed to be under MC.

if you saw someone with outstretched arms, half lidded eyes, and walking with fixed joints, you would reasonably conclude it was the hypnotized zombie walk
this pose is both more recent and culturally separated, but it has the same connotations
