The protagonist of the metroid_(series)|Metroid series.
She is a bounty hunter clad in Chozo power armor and infused with their DNA. She fights the Space Pirates led by her arch-nemesis, Ridley, who destroyed her home colony when she was young, and thwarts their plans to use metroid|Metroids as weapons.
She is recognized as one of the first heroines in video games, and the revealing of her gender is regarded as one of the greatest surprises in early video games.
