I always like the whole "not fully hypnotized and able break out of it, but then they hit them with a stronger blast that gets rid of that pesky resistance" thing. Not used often enough! Nice work!
To be perfectly honest, I would like a positive resolution to this. I know that something like that is very uncommon here but the fact that it could have happened in this case but didn't doesn't sit well with me.
