Although I have a huge thing for "darker versions of characters" and all - especially if they're interacting with each other (yay selfcest...), my Master was the one that came up with an idea where they thought it'd be great to see the new cast of Danganronpa V3 as if they were able to be parts of the Remnants of Despair/Ultimate Despair.
With that in mind, my Master was inspired with their idea and let me know exactly how they wanted this to go. Kaede, DRV3's main character, was the first "subject". She's inspired by Phantom of the Opera + her talent (Ultimate Pianist)...and, of course, Despair itself...
With that, we have the start of our adventure~!
As my Master tells it:
A long time ago, mankind was brought to the brink. By the biggest, most atrocious, most despair-inducing event in human history. From the chaos rose a group called Ultimate Despair, and they initiated multiple, relentless attacks across the globe; utilizing their talents to extinguish hope wherever it endured. They made no declarations and issued no demands. Just as their name implied, they did nothing but bring despair. However, after a desperate battle against Ultimate Despair, the last remaining hope of the world rose up to confront the mastermind. The one who began it all. And with the defeat of the Mastermind of Ultimate Despair, the battle reached it's end, and the world was delivered from the edge of annihilation.
.....Or so it was believed. Despite their apparent end, many years later, a new group of Ultimate Despairs rose from the ashes of the first. Unseen alumni from Hope's Peak Academy. One after another, they emerged from the shadows to revive The Tragedy. Eventually they obtained new followers, and proceeded with their goal to suffocate the world with despair.
One of their allies was a woman who went by the alias, "Fantôme de la Lune." Despite the Future Foundation's best efforts, she eluded capture each and every time. Most terrifying of all, was the effect her musical talent had on those who listened. Anyone who heard her music was driven to madness, their minds reshaped to fetishize despair, just like her. As the phantom's blood-stained fingers danced across the ivory keys, her madness flowed through her fingertips, mingling with her music as it corroded her audience with despair. Numerous agents have vanished during attempts at capturing her, seemingly lost forever to her hopelessly entrancing music....
Who is this woman? Where did she come from? And who exactly are.. The NEW Remnants of Despair?
The goal is to do at least one piece of each of the V3 characters main cast... Hopefully I can do it.
@Imasuky - really should play the games! This is kind of "on its own" in a way, too, though. Just imagine someone corrupted (by Despair) and they wish to spread it. Each person has a "talent" that they're noted for. In canon hers is "Ultimate Pianist". In this situation, she uses it to corrupt and twist others minds to join her own.
Or. Something ;; Plus, all blood in Danganronpa (games) is pink, so... she had some offscreen dealings too!
...I'm terrible at explaining things. I hope I didn't make things more confusing >_<
@Drgnmaster LoL Nor have I! I'm not intending to do any art that has any spoilers (talents aside) until after September, since that's when it comes to the states. I'm also about 50/50 spoiler free? Maybe? (I hate spoilers and the internet isn't a kind place for avoiding them T__T)

I know the very basic idea but the finer points are beyond me. It's like reading the back of a movie case. You get the general idea but don't know what it's actually like.

Oh, right right! >.< Sorry. I knew that much, sorry.
Oyyyy this picture is VERY nice. I love this idea. :3 Please do more. <3

If you don't mind getting spoiled, here's an explanation. (Full game spoilers below! Hope I am tagging it right.)
Basically in Danganronpa 2, you find out that Junko Enoshima took Class 77 (the main characters of that game), the class above DR1's cast, and brainwashed them into Ultimate Despairs. Her followers who helped essentially end the world. They craved Despair and caused Despair, all in her name and worshiped her. Those students used their Ultimate talents to cause crimes and chaos all over the world. For example, the Ultimate Princess had her own citizens and army brainwashed into becoming her soldiers of Despair and evil, the Ultimate Yakuza and Swordswoman took over the Japanese parliament. And so on, and so on.
In short: Junko's Modus Operandi as a villain, was to brainwash those she found useful into becoming corrupted shadows of their former selves who craved Despair like she did. Unpredictable, exciting Despair.
So BlackWidow's idea was to take that corruption/brainwashing concept and apply it to v3's cast and imagine what they would be like as a "darker" self, as an Ultimate Despair. How would they use their talents? What kind of chaos would they unleash?
If I didn't know better, I would say this was a murder scene altered for hypnosis~ Ahaha... Good thing I am not a Bouncing Brainless Bimbo Bunny...Yet.
That outfit is too sexy to not be canon. Wow. That's... An extremely clever way of taking her original design and blending it with her talent and corruption.
There *must* be more of this concept. It's always so hot to see the sweetest, and nicest characters corrupted to the extreme. Like... Umf. Moar, plz!!!!!
