Let's talk about dem dose text-based games
HTML games, RAGS games, the fenoxo games. What's your favorite one? Any new ones you discovered lately? The hypno ones, of course.

Me, I think I'm developing an unhealthy obsession with mtf stuff with feminization. I hope that doesn't say anything about my psyche.

Also, Trials in Tainted Space, had some pretty solid mind control stuff, eh? I sure wish they'll add more (preferably with less girls with dicks), but something's making me doubt that they're going to dip into that fetish again.

I was gonna write a hypno potion into CoC that the player could use on a lot of people, but unfortunately fenoxo kinda went off the deep end and that whole thing imploded. Right now, my boyfriend and I are working on making some text games of our own in a new JS framework he made. The one we're doing now won't have too much hypnosis, but the next one that I want to do will. I'm not 100% sure of the details yet, but I think I want to do a game where you either interrogate people or test new hypnotic equipment on them. Less of a text adventure, more of a game loop.

You wouldn't be the only one, then. :P

Love text based hypnosis games. But I only know of two. COC and TiTS. What other ones are there?

I've had a Twine 2 game called Free Cities recommended to me, but I haven't actually tried it myself.

While I have a chance, I'll try and do a better job of laying out for myself what I want to do with the hypno text game I mentioned, and you guys can give input if you're interested. (I'm thinking of it in terms of furries, but I guess it wouldn't be too hard to have a switch on the start screen where you can set humans/anthros/both, so I might just do that.)

What I'm thinking of doing is having the player play a researcher that works for the Big Bad Evil Org. BBEO runs some stage hypnosis shows in totally-not-Las-Vegas-ville, USA, and they have kidnapped people after the shows who the hypnotists weren't able to put under with tranditional methods. Your mission is to brainwash these resistant people with BBEO technology. For the sake of it being a game, I'll say that you're sort of competing against fellow researchers, and you get points for forcing the subjects to do things they wouldn't otherwise. Because players will want to jerk off- err, in order to encourage the researchers to do better work, bonus points will be given for getting the captives to engage in humiliating sex acts. Of course.

So that'd be "phase 1," sort of. I think it might be interesting if, at some point, BBEO decides that they should have their researchers compete against one another more directly, for better testing. At that point, you'll need to subjugate (and try not to be dominated by) your co-workers. There'd be some battles of willpower there; not quite sure how those would work mechanically and I'm totally ready to hear suggestions about it. That'd be phase 2, and the game could end there with you becoming department head after dominating the rest of the researchers. Or, it could continue a bit. Once you move up to the top of the department, you become able to work on implementing the BBEO's future technologies on the mass population - creating hypnotic commercials, brainwashing pyramid schemes, mass-produced love potions... I dunno how that would work mechanically either; I just *really* like the concept of mass hypnosis.

Thoughts on this? Sound like something you all would want to play? I'm thinking the game loop for phase one would be slowly increasing your own arsenal of hypnotic tools - hypno-helmets, mind control visors, those weird amnesia flashlights from Men In Black, whatever - as you push the subjects further and further into bending to your will. Then, for part two, it would become sort of a network management deal - this researcher trusts that researcher and is currently targeting another researcher with a hypnotic tool that you've determined would be very effective against some particular target you want to control, so you get the one they trust on your side and use them to trick the researcher into submitting to you and giving up their shit. Though, just typing that, that sounds like something that would be better off as its own game, so maybe I'll just plan on doing the first bit, for a start.

Free Cities didn't really have any MC content that I saw when I tried it. I don't really expect it will have any, either, as it's kind of the point of the game that there are no shortcuts - it takes time and effort to mold someone's mind into accepting slavery. Putting in a way to just zonk people into believing whatever you want them to would break the game loop, and not fit the setting anyway. It's a good example of a game where TFGamesSite's "Mental Changes" tag really does mean mental changes and has nothing to do with mind control.

(Free Cities also made me feel like a huge creep. The player character is the unquestioned dictator of a city, is basically better at everything than everyone else, and trains his harem of sex slaves personally. And there's an ideological justification for everything, and the parts of the world that *aren't* following that ideology are falling apart.)

As for text games that actually do have MC content... there really isn't much, is there? I played <<www.silverbardgames.com/?page_id=9|Night Games>> yesterday, but all it has is a few tiny MC bits (largely the "Dark" skill tree, I think). Good writing quality in general, though.

(Also: When TFGamesSite's "Mental Changes" tag does approximate mind control, it seems to mean bimboification oddly often. Nice if you like that sort of thing, I suppose.)

I have actually played Free Cities, and while it is a whole lot of fun, I haven't seen any sign of mind control, just conventional brainwashing.

This all sounds like a good idea. Maybe it could be like a resource management game, like Free Cities? One thing I'd really like to see is spies, heroes, journalists and all that trying to stop/infiltrate you and you get to capture them and break them in.

That's a good idea! I'll add that to the notepad.

It's still weird that you can change the girl's physiology as much as you want on a whim, but you can't zap obedience into them, not even as an end game upgrade.

You still can't deny the fun of turning rebels and rivals into harem slaves and concubines though.

Wait, MC there isn't actually Mind Control?!
Guess I've just been lucky with my downloads then...

Personally, I'm a fan of A Spell For All. I'm also keeping an eye on a few others. Wife Trainer is good, but I haven't gotten a chance to dig into the new update, and won't for about a month. Playing for Keeps is promising, but far from being finished. Still a good time, though. There are a few others, but I'm forgetful. CoC and TiTS are probably my favorite from a "gaming" perspective, but way too full of stuff that I'm not into for me to list them as favorites overall.

Mind telling what those games you mentioned are about?

I also agree with the CoC and TiTS thing you said. There's less than a handful of bad endings that don't involve girls with dicks or ovipositors. Coc and Tits is right,

Sure, all of them are games up on the Hypnopics Collective game board.

A Spell for All is a game where you get a magic book through one method or another and then attempt to build your harem, charming girls, doing adventure game puzzles, and being harassed by rivals/demons along the way. It's html, and still under development, but has plenty of great content. Uses text and manipped images of pornstars for the sexual content.

Playing for Keeps is similarly themed, and the creator of that has another game which is further along and also good. Both are RAGS games that use hentai images. Playing for keeps has your character make deals with the devil court to get a hypnosis power and using a combination of that and an enslaved succubus, you work to enslave more women, expand your power, and do a few quests. So far this one is early into development, but I'm digging what's available. I think the other game this guy was working on was Me Against The World, so if you like that or want to play a similar thing with more overall content there's a good place to look.

Wife Trainer is about, well, training wives. One of the character options has you play as a hypnotist, and there are certain paths and actions only available to you on that path. Every 10-15 in game weeks has a new influx of wives who have issues of some sort that they need your help with, and it's your job to help them out. For example, one is unhappy with her appearance, so you can either work with her to get her fit, it work to improve her sense of self and confidence in her appearance as is. Lots of hidden stuff and replay ability with other paths.

I was writing a text adventure game in Twine a while back. Had a whole backstory typed up, a bunch of character descriptions, even a small proof of concept of one branch of it. Then it sort of fell between the chairs and I haven't been arsed to pick it back up. Still have it laying around, basic gist was a post-post-apoc setting wherein you had a medieval society with bits of old 2100 tech doing near-magical things. Focused kinks were MtF, MC (of course) in a slow, overtaking fashion, and sharkgirl transformations.

Heh, now I feel like digging it out again :P

OT, there's one called First Light Hotel on FA which is really good. Short, but excellent.
