I just learned a new word. And that word is gijinka. It's going to be a LOT easier for me to find cute pics for things like pokemon now. Because now I don't have to search google images for "moe pokemon", which includes custom pokemon cards of Moe Syzlak every little while.

I finally got Nero in Fate/Grand Order thanks to the recent event banner- to the uninformed, she can normally only be found in the generic "no-rateup" story banner, so a free player rarely gets a good chance to pull her since she can't surprise you on most any other event banner like 95% of all the other SRs can

So, I've never played fate/grand order, or really gotten into the fate series anime, but I've been considering going for the game. I think I would like to know a bit more about it first if someone could explain it in brief to me...

Well, it's a gacha game, so it's like, you get a slow trickle of the premium currency just by playing frequently, or you can buy more with (IMO) overpriced microtransactions

The odds of getting good summons are apparently really low compared to other gachas on the market (1% chance for a 5-star, 4% for a 4-star), so naturally there's plenty of salt about bad rolls, especially when it comes to limited servants that are only available once a year (or worse)

That said, it's a genuinely well-designed game, and between the common units that everyone gets eventually, the "welfare" 4-stars that they periodically give you just for participating in events, support units borrowed from people on your friends list and just whatever you happen to pull by luck, you should have no difficulty playing through the story and event quests- the common joke is "pay to waifu", not "pay to win". If you find someone you really like, you can even boost their level past their intended cap by using Holy Grails (a very finite/limited resource, but great for when you finally get your #1 waifu)

note that they seem to do a "guaranteed gacha" of some sort every 6 months or so, where you have to use paid-for currency (they track it separately from the free ones you accumulate over time) but you're guaranteed to get a 5-star from the available pool, so if you play long enough to justify the purchase, that's another point to consider

Having fun learning how to play DMC4 is both frustrating but insanely satisfying.

I'm getting through Dante's side of the story mode now and while he's a much more technical character, he's a BLAST to use in comparison to Nero and just has so many more options.
