Dabbling with a part 2 idea but found this to be enough for now. Sorry for lack of a background everything I currently have doesn't mix well with NieR's aesthetics. Amateur is a lad as always and I had some fun making this with him so support that absolute unit whenever he finally posts again.
I was messing around with 2B here and figured out she looks realkly damn good with wide eyes to me... which then led to me thinking about ways to use that feature.
This started off as a sort of public use idea with 2B here having a few broken units behind her with 2B-prime being activated by another 2B and used. Found out, rendering 2B takes a ton of time and rendering 4 is really fucking challenging. I could've done them in layers and made it work but I opted instead to rework the idea to something more sustainable.
I didn't exactly know where I was going with this, I just wanted to animate some 2B. So you'll notice it's choppy and the hair isn't moving as much (and the hair brush itself is a bit different) and the ending is not at all what is here now. I just kinda tacked it on as I was planning on the whole lite-public-use thing.
AND THEN I STARTED PLAYING PERSONA 3 BUT THAT'S NOT RELATED
It wasn't good and was removed later on. If I'd made the twitches either build up to that level or had more small ones it'd work but I didn't like the twitch effect overall so I scrapped it.
Missing the effects of the final version and a few hair movements were fixed. The overall movements was mostly kept and only light tweaks were done here.
Okay so I'll actually go into a bit of detail here. The static effect here is done by using the TV Test Strip ( bit.ly/2TWWsCD ) and then applying a wave distortion effect to it and adjusting the intensity of said effect on another layer by having it target specific colours at different levels. The final layer is a standard 3D anaglyph (Red/Cyan) applied to a clean run of the animation and then fluctuating depending on what I set it to by hand.
Then the last step was to add in the eye colour change and that's what you see here alongside a hair clipping fix at the end.
I like your previous idea better, although both are good. I think you could have done better with other visualizations than twitching like eye rolling, lip quivering, etc. Buts it's all up to you to really get that back or not.
