What happened??
Earlier today I couldn't get to any part of hypnohub. It kept saying te server wasn't responding. I tryer 6 times over 2 hours and got te same screen no matter what part of the hub I tryer To go to.
I could go everywhere else on the net just not any part of the hub
Anyone else have this issue??

Yes, Vann and I both had this issue. I was unable to connect for almost an hour and a half earlier, and that was the 2nd time I found myself locked out. I asked what happened, but never got an explanation that I understood.

So it isn't just me? I've been getting this issue off and on again today.
Is it being worked on?

When I asked why I was still unable to connect to the site even though everyone else I talked to had no problems with it (during the hour and a half I was locked out), I was told to do this: www.howtogeek.com/164981/...to-speed-up-web-browsing/

After doing that, I still had to refresh a couple times before the site actually loaded.

Again, I haven't gotten any answers about this that I've actually understood.

Cuz this happened: status.namecheap.com/?p=14986

DNS related errors like this are out of my control, Millions of people use the DNS name servers given to us and when it fails there is nothing i can do about it.

I took action by moving our DNS servers location to a different provider (and hopefully better one). After this all other DNS servers need to acknowledge that we moved and basicly refresh the data. This is where that link Mindwipe gave comes in hand. Your default DNS servers provided by the ISP are almost -ALWAYS SHIT- and slow. Google or OpenDNS don't keep caching for long periods of time and try to fetch new data. This is why even if you don't have issues now, you might as well switch to them anyway because they are faster and better.

Ah, I figured it was a DNS issue.

How highly would you recommend that one switches to non-default DNS services? Do you think the average person will really find that much a difference from doing so?

Yes, google DNS is faster and also does more updates. Making DNS issues less painfull.

I don't think I'm going to as I've never had the issues I had today till today.

I'll hold off for now, personally. I'll chat with my brother about it for more outlining of pros and cons and more details before I decide. He's much more savvy on the networking side of technology than I am.

I honestly haven't noticed much of a difference, though I feel like some sites may actually be loading slower now.

Just me in Texas running pings on hypnohub.net through different DNS:
>Auto-Obtained DNS
Minimum = 136ms, Maximum = 140ms, Average = 137ms
>8.8.8.8 (Google)
Minimum = 137ms, Maximum = 139ms, Average = 138ms
>4.2.2.2 (Ancient, slow public domain)
Minimum = 138ms, Maximum = 158ms, Average = 145ms

So even with the slowest public one I know the response time isn't too much slower. Results shouldn't change by more than a few ms between DNS on different sites as long as they're able to connect, so any differences are probably on the end of your ISP and not related to the DNS connection.

tl;dr It's safe and Google connects to everything so just use that.
