Idea for a new Terraria biome
The Assimilation, a tech/robotic themed biome that replaces stone, dirt, and other blocks with steel panels, circuit boards, and the like. It spreads in a similar manner to The Corruption and The Hallow, but instead of consuming other biomes it "assimilates" them, leaving them with some of their unique characteristics. For example, an Assimilated Jungle would have things like Robot Hornets and lots of hanging cables instead of vines; and Assimilated Ocean would have Robot Sharks and Metal Coral and stuff.

Wooden structures and most ores would not be able to be assimilated. This is to negate the possibility of a world becoming completely unusable if assimilation is left unchecked, and give the players something they can use to contain or combat The Assimilation.

Assimilated Corruption would be the most dangerous assimilated biome on hard mode because of the Robot Corruptors, now called Assimilators. Getting hit by their Assimilation Ray would have a chance to give players the Robot debuff, where their attack and defense actually increase, but it becomes impossible to use potions, and the controls become awkward and jerky because the player character is trying to autonomously build more Assimilation.

I mostly thought you guys would like this idea for the robotization element. Thoughts?

That's maybe something for Edge of Space (by the Terraria devs)!
(I don't think Terraria will get anymore bigger updates :( )

Heh. Nice idea. Id like to see some Z.O.N.A biome. It from book "Roadside picnic" - place with gravitation/heat/electric/acid/plant/animal anomalies and half-destroyed city buildings. You should be very carefully in that biome, cause all anomalies are deadly. Every day anomalies change their position. It invisible, but with some noticeable details (burned grass etc.) Also this place should have some random "artifacts" spawn places artifact-item use as equipment with different effects for character(negative and positive, to make some balance) or to craft some rare stuff(workbenches, decoration, weapon)
Maybe my idea sounds weird, but if you read the book - you like it.
