generally speaking, the case where "the book is better than the movie" is almost 99.9% true, since people get accustomed to the main story from the book and when things change, there's hell to pay, as well as the fact that books have way more details than the movie.

This is a personal fav manga/anime of mine.
Yes the manga is better but the randomness in season 2 anime which only followed like the first volume of the season 2 manga (yes the second half of the manga is called season 2...) was fun and different.
The music openings/endings where very fun and especially the dub had all the short songs like this one put in and they are wonderful *drools*

Pretty much exactly my thoughts - though I must say the manga has a serious amount of Serial Cerebus Syndrome which may not be everyone's thing. The story just keeps darkening and never really lightens back up until the end.

I prefer the manga because there's an actual story there instead of it just being a standard MotW anime without a plot, but I have to admit this episode sets off a lot of my fetishes.

The manga was still a thousand times better, but I love this episode for obvious reasons.

no, basically a new transfer student, the bat pet of one of the characters can hypnotise lesser monster girls merely be saying Je T'aime to them. It doesn't work on other vampires however unless they are on the young side(His mistress though she shows heavy signs of resistance) or her sister whom is a sealed vampire.

Also worked on a werewolf Guy but that was partly a joke on him being utterly useless in the anime and he gets treat as a dog.

After hypnotising the entire school he makes the main girls dance for him in a musical number dressed in various forms of cosplay. The Hypnotised sign is their eyes get a yellow tint which you can see on Mizore, the girl with the candy in her mouth but not the catgirl teacher whom has the asian anime trope of closed eyes.

Incidentally all the girls are fully aware they are hypnotised and being controlled and mentally scream about how crazy their bodies are acting but can't resist.

I couldn't tell ya since I gave up on the anime when it went for fanservice over the cool actions scenes. What I can say is the candy has nothing to do with it. Purple hair is a Yuki Onna, which means she will literally melt if she isn't surrounded by snow and ice. The lolipop is magic and helps her regulate her body temperature
