Have to agree there. Good first shot, but it needs a little work. As is, pretty hot, but the pendulum looks like it's on one of those springy-tracks from physics class.

Nothing wrong with lightweight 3d tools. Any hardcore pro 3d animation software requires a really long time before you can get comfortable making good quality animations at a fast rate. Starting simple is a good route.

As for the webm i recommend trying to smooth out the animation and adjust the timing of the pendulum, I dont know how it works in mmd but when the pendulum hits the high points on the sides it should hang a bit then picks up speed going down.
