I remember it was marketed as a shocking game that broke all kinds of taboos like cannibalism, incest, murder, human sacrifice and parricide.

While the game included all of those, the story was 90 % about the fucked up, toxic, codependent, incestuous relationship between the sibling protagonists, and then pretended it was shocking when the incest siblings in the incest game finally actually fucked.

The closest thing to actual shock the game had was how much of a straight up sociopath Ashley was from like age 6 or w/e.
