"AWAKE!"


Her eyes snapped wide open, released from their blissful slumber. She blinked hard as she readjusted to the warm spotlight shining down on her. Things were a little foggy. It was as if she had awoken from a long, deep dream. As her view cleared, a familiar voice massaged her mind.


"So... How are you feeling?"


She looked up to find standing before her, the beautiful Madame Mesmer, clad in her iconic attire, her corset and fishnets. A sigh of relief let out as a dreamy smile grew on her face at the sight of her friend.


"I feel..." She thought for a moment... Mesmer was her friend? Why did she doubt that? Before dwelling for too long on thoughts that were clearly untrue, she gazed back at Mesmer's eyes before replying "I feel great!" as a sense of calmness returned to her mind.


"I'm ever so glad! Before my clients leave, I like to make sure everything went smoothly so would you mind answering a few questions?" Madame Mesmer asked softly.


"Go ahead!" She responded, eager to comply.


"Tell me about yourself... your name... why you came here..."


"Well. My names Hypnogirl. Obviously. I've been a superhero for quite some time now and I was feeling super stressed out and I came to you, the person who understands me the most, to fix whatever was wrong with me and going off of how I feel right now... I am most definitely fixed!" She confidently fired back without hesitation.


Madame Mesmer giggles softly as she watched Hypnogirl respond, still seated in the chair she had been dropped in. "Oh you're most welcome, Hypnogirl. Its always a pleasure when you come to me for help. I bet its unusual for you to come to a master hypnotist that isn't a world famous supervillain, isn't it?"


Hypnogirl chuckled "It really is. Everything you've done for me just... makes me feel like a completely new person!"


A smug, almost devious grin grew on Mesmer's face. She gestured to Hypnogirl's attire, a bikini flaunting a spiral design so pretty, it nearly captured the hypnotist's own gaze. "Might I say, Hypnogirl, your costume is something else. How long have you had it?" She asked as she picked up a pile of purple and orange spandex from the side of the stage.


"Oh THIS? This has always been my costume. Have you really never noticed?" she seemed genuinely confused how a costume this outlandish had gone under Mesmer's radar. Especially considering how many times they had met. But at the same time, looking down at herself, she did understand slightly. It did look slightly unfamiliar to her too but maybe she was just a little tired. This had always been her costume afterall. "Whats that you've got there?"


Madame Mesmer held out the spandex in front of her, revealing a leotard with a lighting pattern on it. "This? This is just from a previous client. A client I won't be seeing again..."


"Why not?" Hypnogirl got curious.


"Well, she marched in here all mighty, in this hideous getup, accusing me of being a supervillain, announcing that she was going to stop me 'once and for all' and that my powers of hypnosis are a cheap circus trick. Of course thats to be expected from anyone stupid enough to waltz around in a suit like this!"


"I'm so sorry to hear that. Only a total idiot would dress in that. And to think someone could be so awful to you..." Hypnogirl could see no reason why anyone could possibly have anything at all against the wonderful Madame Mesmer. The sweet, serenading English accent. Her beautiful, flowing blonde hair. Don't even get her started on the eyes. Those infinite, portals of bliss, enough to make your fall to your knees and listen to ANYTHING she says.


"Its in the past..." Mesmer looks at her pocketwatch. "Would you look at the time! You should be getting out there and stopping crime!"


"You're so right!" Hypnogirl shot up, heading off the stage, stopping briefly to say "Thanks so much Mesmer, how can I repay you?"


"Don't be silly. No repaying needed. Just remember..." Mesmer snaps her fingers.


Hypnogirl's face goes blank before mindlessly chanting "Madame Mesmer melts my mind. I was ever so dumb and unkind. My old personality dripped away like drool. My life continues as this hypnotized fool." She returns to her previous state as if nothing happened, planting a grateful kiss on Mesmer's cheek before strutting away ready to fight crime.


As the door closes, Madame Mesmer enters her dressing room. "Look out world! Here comes Hypnogirl!" She laughs as she tosses the spandex outfit into a trash can...

And as you all might have guessed from the last page, yes Usagi does say her most well-known phrases. And as you can see, Wolf Ataru is all in when the new cute girl wants to 'punish' him. Of course, this usually means the type of punishment Lum always has in store for him, but he never realizes it.


As for Demon Lum, since this is a version of the character at her most possessive when her Darling is concerned, we see her glowing even more as she goes into destruction mode. Will this be enough to thwart Usagi's saving Twilight? Probably not, but I do love these little details here. ^^

Good use of color, I definitely get similar vibes to Feger's stuff

The concept of someone going from fully awake to deeply in trance in an instant can be pretty hot. However, I agree that it becomes boring in comic format if it's done with just two panels, as seeing the facial expressions of the subject is part of the fun, and it feels like that fun was skipped.
So it's best if the comic takes the time to show some of the in betweens, such as in post 211502.
Or if it's an animation instead of a comic, such as in post 118018.
