I would take the implication to be the 'no, i'm fine, everything's okay' sorta' response is the virus' doing, personally.

It's like one of those pictures with lights hidden behind the canvas that lights up in sequence to give the illusion of moving water. It probably wouldn't work too well in this context, though, but I thought it was kinda funny.

In the source the image is called 'female possession'. Possession is a form of control so the original artist had the intention of this being a picture involving some kind of control.

It would be clearer that's what's going on if she had glowing red pinpoint eyes like the in-game witches do. I've played the game and that mask alone didn't really make me connect the dots at first.

Essentially, the Witches in Fire Emblem Echoes are women who exchanged their souls for great power, becoming extensions of their gods will. The Mask is present on all Witches in the game.

I haven't played the game. Does that mask have some sort of MC ability?
