I think it's due to colour pallete and the head design, that I feel the snake looks almost indentical to saalim.

This graphical style can be upscaled without any consequences. It's as simple as opening it in Photoshop, upscaling in Image > Image Size while using Nearest Neighbor image resampling (pre-heat to 200% Fahrenheit), and re-exporting as a .gif.

Not that a browser's zoom function would hurt the image too bad in the first place anyway, if you're lazy, but this is a cooking show, so of course I'd already prepared one before we even started:
