Yeah it's actually a frequent trope in totally spies. For example in this episode www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN60Pqx7L7U at 2 min 42 they're summoned by Jerry who tells them people are kidnappedi n super markets. It turns out it's an australian villain who uses micro ship to make people become violent toward capitalism (also they somewhat become obsessed by australian culture). one of the heroine is affected and it's a drastic change because they ALL love to buy stuff and are 100M pro capitalism.
In another episode of totally spies (you can see that at the very beginning and it's like that during the whole episode too) more and more students and young persons who go in night clubs suddenly become ultra violent and want to destroy everything. It turns it's a villain from the first episode who is specialized in using hypnotic music. in this episode, the music he uses in these clubs makes people say "hyper rave is the way toward the future" and they become obsessed by the idea of destroying places the 3 totally spies love (especially very big stores but also Sam's favorite museum). During their investigation, Mandy, one of their female classmate is affected and becomes violent. Also the funniest thing is, the three totally spies at one point KNOW PERFECTLY WELL this is Sebastian who is specialized in hypnotic music, and they KNOW he is also using hypnotic music here. Yet they stupidly enter the club normally with no protection and instantly get hypnotized by the music and they suddenly become obsessed by the idea of destroying building and places they love!
