I think the mind-control stopped working once he took off the helmet. Edit: Checked out previous page, okay so that's not what happened instantly, but the 'influence' of the helmet might have begun to fade thus leading to her getting out of it now.

It seems like it was just there as some way to get to a kind of generic incest comic and just forgot about the MC element once it got to the 'main event' as if it was

I'm sure this is exactly it. This was intended as an incest comic first and foremost. The MC was there just to excuse it or to squeeze in another fetish. Either way, it's clear MC wasn't the intended focus.

Hell the majority of H-Doujins with the tag of Hypnosis are just that. Or they just start off as "Well you're hypnotized already. Time to Fuck" and without text telling you that or GENERIC EMPTY EYES you'd never know.
