If you can imagine a time when a hypnotized heroine reached the recognition of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton then you can begin to understand how huge Trilby was. It will probably never happen again, but it does show the heights that hypnosis can reach in the public psyche. That's why this Daphnovember piece is the only one where the name of the media is significantly larger than the Daphnovember title and numbering, as well as the different font. This honestly would have been more fitting as a penultimate piece, but I wanted there to be breathing room between the finale Daphne and Trilby. I hope you enjoyed this one...
... and I totally didn't color this one because the Trilby illustrations were in black and white. >_> Tooootally the reason why this is in lineart. <.<

And here my smooth brain is like "wasn't Trilby made by the guy who yells about video games for a living?"
fun fact: that character was named for the style of hat he wears, and that particular style of fedora was popularized when one of the characters in the stage play version of "Trilby" wore it. So, yeah, your thinking that is indirectly a tribute to how big Trilby once was.

Actually, a Trilby-style scenario with Daphne being brainwashed into becoming the frontwoman of the Hex Girls, or a Hex Girls-like group would be excellent.
Fuckin' nailed it.

This one is special. Trilby is and was the ultimate expression of mainstream hypnofetishism. While Daphne is great representation, nothing will ever come close to the heights that Trilby put hypnosis as a pop culture phenomenon. Trilbyana or Trilby mania would be the only time in history outside of Mesmer's magnetism parties that women would happily identify, dress up, and enact hypnotized submissiveness in a mass scale.
