Chris was feeling good. His baggy clothing had been fitting better, he'd been feeling more confident, he was even doing better in his classes. He had a personal trainer at the gym now, and it was really starting to show, but if you had pressed the cheetah for details, you would get vague answers. The truth was, the only thing Chris remembered between entering the gym and leaving were hazy memories of being ordered, of workouts, a voice that commanded respect.

The mental fog was such he didn't even realize until he got home that his growth spurt had included his feet, the front of his shoes having burst open, his thick toes poking through - he wouldn't even fit any off the shelf shoes now.
