So, that begs the question... When does this take place? Usually the vaults were opened a century or two after it was sealed. With that in mind, how did Kathrine Brooks survive this long? Was the vault's experiment different, and involving some sort of life extension system, and the experiment only changed due to the men working maintenance?
Truly, only the most upclass and logical thinking is allowed for these types of stories.
Not necessarily, the 200 year thing is mostly a Bethesda invention Fallout 2's vault 8 was sealed for just 2 years, and it was the only vault we see that went 100% perfectly. In fact, vault 13 was supposed to be the only vault to be sealed for 200 years, according to the original manual.

Another example and what I was going for was like Fallout 76 (the garbage fire that it was) in where the Vault only opened after 25 years.
