Tbh I’ll would’ve chosen magic side partly because mind control/possession spells but mostly I’ll be doing you a wizard Harry jokes a lot :)

Depends on how “real” either side is. The beat mind control IMO is the subversion of the will where the self is still left in tact (more or less we’re talking R34 here) “Friendship is Mind Control” over on FiMFIC is a good example of this. The MC produces slaves/servants/pets (whichever term you prefer, personally I go for servant). I am not saying tech is bad either. Monsuierchuchote and DaveLemon both have some stuff on DeviantArt that demonstrate how good tech can be for control (White Room, PI investigator and their corresponding sequels are some of my favorites). Sunt’s Mind control university quest (fiction.live) and NeuroQueen of Brockton Bay (Questionable Questing) demonstrate tech based control as well without the drawback of the implied 9-5 aspect of some of the former two’s works. (Weird moral qualm to have when we consider that this is all morally questionable MC, but apparently I draw the line at MC for pseudo/literal human trafficking ) If I had to pick I would probably go with magic over tech (I am an insult to all nerds out there) mostly because magic both, seems easier, and seems more personal. Tech can personal too I guess but it feels almost detached, like some goon is just doing his shady job for his boss. In hypothetical scenarios where I use mind control I like of thinking of the individuals more like slavishly devoted servants, and you can’t sell your servants.
