Despite having overcome their previous divide over Merida's future, the Queen and Princess hadn't lost their strength of pride and passion in their opinions. Queen Elinor no longer tried to force tradition on her free-spirited daughter without room for compromise, and Princess Merida did her best follow her mother's guidance now knowing she could voice her objections.

However, even with this new found understanding, it was a matter of time before these two very strong willed women would clash over their differing opinions of Royal Duty. On one fateful Mother's Day, Queen Elinor had only meant to jest that the greatest gift her daughter could give her was a grandchild. Needless to say, the ensuing argument had not been a quiet one. Kind Fergus and the triplets had fled under the guise of a hunting trip, leaving the mother and daughter to hash things out.

Unbeknownst to the DunBroch clan members, this was the year a certain fairy had chosen their kingdom to spread her specialised Pixie Dust for the holiday...
