It's a show Netflix released recently called High-rise Invasion (in english) and well it's a very MC themed show using said masks.

Only on a technicality. It's an urban survival anime/manga where a group of people need to survive a "hunter" game where they're chased by people wearing those masks who want to kill them. It's revealed that people wearing said masks are being controlled and compelled to kill non-mask wearers.

Definitely sounds like Strangers minus the MC. Also sounds like gore fest (or am I mistaken on that?)

The anime was made around 2016 so yeah it's got a lot of blood fountains and some really severe kills There's a killcount on youtube for it.
