Someone on the Yugioh staff definitely had a mind control fetish considering it's happened to every heroine in every series without fail. Wouldn't be surprised if Sevens had it too.

Is not only in YGO, every anime with children card games have this (even without cards)

B-daman, Cardfight Vanguard, Monster Rancher, YuGiOh!, Duel Masters.

Is kinda "normal" thing in this type of series.

For CFV I know the reverse and the psyqualia zombies can possibly count as Mind Control. Not to sure about the diffride though.
