The problem with having a few 'heroes' under your control, unless you have absolutely crushing force or an absolutely unbeatable ability to keep other heroes-or even villains-out, is it makes you a gigantic target.
And that ability must be absolutely perfect, as not only must you ensnare people coming in, you have to KEEP them trapped, and then your initial captives will likely be trying to resist your control, even if they are not entirely aware of it consciously.
