I'm not sure about wholesome since really only a couple of their works are consensual, but the sex here makes it feel more extreme than usual. I'd guess it's motivated by trying to achieve more widespread appeal for their newly launched Fanbox. In the Fanbox post, they say they're not sure how well they can draw this sort of content but want to give it a shot.
