Zatanna was approached by a henchman from some super villain. Trying to hypnotize her with a crystal pendant he had bought. Zatanna didn't believe the pendant was mystical in nature until she examined it more closely. It was magical, just not in his hands. Unfortunately, his commands rang in her head and she obeyed. She would serve him so long as she had the crystal.
