Story by Taiko, the maker of the character on the right: Initially, Ren did see much of a problem settling down and just taking a quick rest. He had been visiting a military training facility, mostly to help train a few other recruits, and though he wasn’t tired from a good day’s workout, he still felt the need to relax with a friend nearby. Of course, said friend wasn’t around, working on a project a few cities away, but Ren had been given the access code to the back door to let himself in whenever he wanted.

It was a nice building, really, and Ren had visited well enough that he didn’t need to turn on the lights to make his way around. He did trip on a chair or two, bump into a few stairs, but it took only a quick reorientation for him to get himself back on track. Quick salad, using up the greens before they could expire - no meat to use, sadly, Ren would need to stock up on that in the morning - and soon he was off to the media center to watch a bit of the news. As powerful as Ren was, telling the weather ahead of time and knowing what foods or avenues to avoid just wasn’t something he could do.

Besides, he’d been standing for most of the day, so it’d be nice to just sit down and let the couch do all the heavy lifting. A muscled body didn’t just stand up on its own, after all.

As he sat down, however, the dragon heard something come from the front of the building...and something from the back too. Odd, that. He didn’t remember hearing of anyone else staying over too, and he was sure the business project was supposed to last at least a few more days. It didn’t sound like a breaking and entering though...

Taking a moment to plan things out, muting the TV and listening hard, someone came in from the side of the room to his left, where the front of the house was. Ren was surprised by the face he got, having not seen it in years. ''Oooh, Ren,'' Debaun purred, grinning slightly as he looked the dragon over. ''Well, I hadn’t expected to see you here. Pleasant surprise. I’ll have to make the most of it...''

Before the dragon could open his mouth to question why the snow leopard was there, the sound of the back door being slammed caused them to turn to Ren’s right. In strolled a lion Ren had never seen before. Though he couldn’t see under the lion’s mane, he could feel appreciating eyes scoping him out, and a satisfied smile coming to the feline’s face.

...so it was a little confusing when both this lion and Debaun popped onto the couch at the same time. Just as Ren started to open his mouth to say something, however, the lion spoke up first. ''Well, then, looks like I’ll have company tonight.'' he said with a purr most lions couldn’t produce. ''Didn’t know Rich’ had friends coming over. What’s your name?''

Raising a brow, unable to figure out what was happening, Ren decided to talk things out. ''My name’s Re-''

''I’m Debaun, and this,'' the snow leopard cut in, reaching up and grabbing at the dragon’s shoulder, ''Is my plaything for tonight, Ren.''

Ren groaned, although his body didn’t move from where it sat. Seems Debaun hadn’t changed at all.

''Yours?'' the lion repeated, a sly smile coming to his face. ''Are you sure you wouldn’t like to share a little...?'' He brought a hand up, and the dragon could almost swear there was something purple about it...

Before he could look deeper into it (and it just seemed to be begging to look deeper, and deeper...) there was a dash of something yellow, and the whole thing fizzled up and out like a microwave hit by a lightning bolt. The dragon jumped, as did the lion, but Debaun looked unamused.

''No, I’m not sharing him. You, on the other hand...'' There was another dash of yellow, maybe gold, aimed for the other’s head, but like a ninja in a movie, the cat blocked it with a palm, resulting in another micro-puff. ''...can go now. I don’t know what you did to get the key code, but I got here fair and square.''

''Fair and square? More like you picked the lock?'' the tawny cat growled, pushing himself off the couch, using his full size against Debaun’s more average height. They glared at one another, Debaun’s eyes literally having a dangerous shine to them.

''And you didn’t get the code with that little hand-trick of yours?''

''Hey, the subway car had a power outage. The security guard and I had a car to ourselves, we had a good time. He gave that code to me so we could do it again.''

''That doesn’t say No to my question.''

''Same to you with the front door.''

Ren, looking back and forth to the two felines, before sighing and hefting himself up. He didn’t have time for this. ''Well, seeing as this has become a bit too crazy for me, I’ll-''

''Stay.'' the two cats said together, reaching up and forcing the dragon back to the couch. Whether it was the magic, the tingle of telekinesis, or just the general strength of both men, Ren found himself pulled back to the couch. He was starting to get the impression that he really was in trouble here, sitting between two felines with one hand apiece behind the couch.

''So, you’re not leaving then?''

''Not until you go first.''

''I’m the one with the history with Ren.''

''Funny, cause I have the homeowner on speed-dial. That, and I could kick your scrawny little ass out easy.''

''And I could open a portal to where cthulhu goes to get his jollies off.''

Ren was really starting to get very uncomfortable with the conversation, and so he began to will himself out, teleport away rather than force his way ou-

''Stay!'' Debaun shouted again, gold filling what shadows Ren normally travelled through, springboarding him right back to the couch, as though he’d never left. The shadow dragon had never been denied like that before. He wasn’t sure what was scarier: that Debaun knew HOW to do it, or that he actually had the power to actually DO it. Either way, until he worked on a way around it, Ren wasn’t going anywhere without going past his normal threshold of violence.

''...how about this,'' the lion said, flexing his fingers, ''We’ll let him decide. He was here first, he gets dibs.'' The purple glow returned, and in stronger force than before, illuminating any part of the lion that wasn’t covered. A smile came across his features, equal parts easy going and smug.

''Mmmmm... I can accept that.'' Debaun purred, his eyes turning to large spirals as his own hands drew their claws. Debaun’s expression was a mirror of his opponent’s.

Ren felt like a glazed ham between the two. Holding his hands together, he summoned up what strength he had, and made to rise from his seat. The couch held fast to himself. There was one last thing he thought he had, before the two forces hit: ‘This is going to suck...’
