Story by Taiko, the maker of the character on the right:
Debaun wasn’t entirely satisfied with his current evening, given that he was used to things going more smoothly than they were, but all things considered, they were going quite well. It’d been easy enough to get the address from Lucas (and even easier to arrange a taxi to Lucas’ place, all paid in advance by the Lugia), and the door lock hadn’t offered any resistance to the snow leopard’s magic. Ren was a pleasant surprise to find and, even if he was already immune to a couple of Debaun’s methods of induction, the magician knew of a dozen other parlour tricks he could use to get the big man under his control. It would be fun experimenting with them over the course of a weekend.

What hadn’t gone so smoothly was the other surprise Debaun found, after he’d entered the relatively lavish building - Psycat. Well, he assumed it was Psycat - he’d heard it being whispered to Ren as their initial spells collided, leaving the large dragon pulling an amusing face between them. Rather odd name, even in Debaun’s lengthy line of experience.

Actually, magic didn’t seem to be what the lion had on his side. Spells, and raw magical power, all had a chaotic feel to them, innumerable coils and currents to direct, straighten out if needed be. Debaun had had a lot of training, time, and perks keeping his magic good and ready. Psycat, however, had too direct an access to whatever he was using. He wasn’t likely an ethereal being - the snow leopard would have noticed that - but he was able to block Debaun’s magic. Very strange.

After a moment of stillness between them, Debaun threw the first ‘stone’ as it were, an experimental if harmless little trick. Like before, the larger lion had thrown his hand up, catching the spell, only for it to explode outwards over them, fabric unravelling to nothingness. It had been partially blocked - the other’s leather vest was still around, as was Debaun’s top hat - but it proved the lion wasn’t able to disconcert the intent behind magic. Eliminated a few possibilities, but not enough for a conclusion.

The return fire was just as informative, if not annoying: a force grabbing at his hat, trying to pull it down over his eyes. While that was easy enough to correct with a hand, the cat also found something working its way into his mind. Something... oozing in through his skin, into his head. A hypnotic osmosis. It felt greasy, slimy to Debaun's heightened senses. Like someone was dunking him into a vat of something designed to make his skin crawl...

His rebuttal was instinctive and, admittedly, a bit extreme - a blast of magic that blew any influence Psycat may have had on him...and into the rest of the room. Aside from putting Ren further under, the darkness dragon's muscled form wobbling side to side, the room was starting to show a bit of flux. The couch, for one thing, was smaller than it was before...MUCH smaller, to the point that both Debaun and Psycat needed to be pressed against the cushy arms to give Ren some room. The walls were also changing color, the paint and carpet shifting hues of blue till they started reassembling Ren's underbelly (which, in itself, was lighter than before), and the couch was starting to match it too.

Initially, Debaun had no mind of this, instead readying a few sparks behind the couch for Psycat. However, before he could release them, something caught his eye. The lion's mane was darker than before, from milk to dark chocolate...just as Ren had turned lighter...

With a start, Debaun also noted that the dragon's horns were almost completely gone by this point, and his hair was looking more like one would see on a brush! He could feel his own hairs tingling too, bits of fur shifting color if not direction, and if he didn't react soon...

Reluctantly, the feline shifted his spells, and he drew the influence he'd unleashed into the room back out, like the puddle rung out of a sponge. However, the more he drew out, the more he could feel something in the mass of energy above him...ideas, feelings, desires...all to be the submissive party...

''So...you're a telepath?'' he growled, shifting to kneel with his knees against Ren's leg, red eyes looking to him. He set the ball behind the dragon's head, a mass of gold and purple, spiralling about like a technicolor crystal ball.

''And telekinetic, magic-man...'' Psycat said back, smoothly, as Ren's arms rose up on their own and settled behind the couch, giving them much more room. Outside of Debaun's sight, his fingers wrapped around Ren's own, a more direct link between them, and their minds. Ren's tongue lolled out of his mouth, drool ready to get rolling.

Having encountered many telepaths, Debaun's tactics immediately shifted, targeting the dragon's body rather than his mind. One hand reached out towards the dragon's shaft, ghostly-vines slowly wrapping about it, curling under his heavy testicles, ready to pull the dragon away through his urges. Already a drop of pre was starting to slip out.

Both cats held a hand out to the other, their power flowing out and around, visible but not yet leaving their sides of the couch. Debaun's spell was rising, and Psycat's mind was slowly starting to buzz...the next strike would solve things...they'd make sure of it.
