Opinions on the background? If people like it I'll probably do something similar for future artworks. I'll also probably stick with this type of eye shading if people like it.

for just a bust/portrait, its nice that its more than just flat background while still being neutral in general. If you could incorporate it into the hypno (like its a cloud and the hypno is related to clouds/its supposed to be like water to represent her 'sinking' into trance or if there's like hypno swirls or other patterns in it) that'd be awesome. Shading for the eyes work too.

The main focus should be the one hypnotized so that works~~~
You do have a lot of gray empty space though so maybe just crop that out in the future though.
