I don't think so. Even in the original Iron Man animated series, they tended to vary depending on the needs of the story.

everyone with hypnosis powers should take the code geass rout and study their own powers to an insane degree so the audience can know exactly how it works... Or not, which ever the writers feel like having more, a well explained world or the ability to pull a semi believable plot with the vague powers out of their asses when the time comes (there's merits to both). Considering that a lot of comic are designed to try to last forever (because business) I think they'll take the latter option with Hypnotia.
1
