Actually it's not "obvious" even if you have seen the show, the character never had powers anything like that or any sort of "corruption" abilities.

This is really just some guy's weird kick that he's gotten drawn a whole bunch. I'm going to have to toss my vote on the "not evident mind control" bit as you'd have no idea whatsoever what was going on with these pictures unless you'd run across this weird little cul-de-sac within fandom.
