@Anon Frankly, I don't understand why there isn't more of him here. Not that I imagine there are many people out there with the hots for him or anything, but there ARE lots of hypnofetishists out there with the hots for Sonic characters (as evidenced by over 1000 Sonic images here), and here we have a canonical Sonic character who uses hypnosis as his primary method of... everything, and even does some HARDCORE BRAINWASHING on these 2 characters in particular, and yet there's almost nothing of him here. What the heck, Sonic fans? Get on this! He even makes Rouge his sleeper agent for a short time, and flat out says that he could have done MORE if he'd had more time with her.

I guess this is just Vanndril's theory of inverse hypnosis content showing its face again.

I like how Surge takes 232 sessions to truly hate Sonic but Kit only needs 33 to really care about Surge

@Mindwipe I'm not too surprised we haven't seen more of Starline. The IDW comics are pretty niche compared to the games, and new characters don't have the advantage of nostalgia the old characters do.

Surge has had a big surge in popularity, but I'd wager that's because people like her design more than they like the ins and outs of her story. In that regard, the platypus beak makes Dr. Starline a much tougher sell.

I don't want to get into spoilers for the IDW comics but doesn't Surge breakout of his brainwashing at somepoint? Same with Kit?

I disagree about Starline's design being a hard sell. Even being a Sonjc character, he has so many typical design elements of a 'typical sexy villain' that I think he could have a lot of appeal for the right audience. I'm not even a Sonic fan but I lowkey find Starline's design hot AF.

I think the issue lies more in the simple fact that he's a male character, and by and large this community does not attract much content that prominently features attractive male characters, outside of the femboy types.

@Hypnogaldaphne I really like the implication that Surge is just so strong willed that she required over 200 sessions for her programming to fully take hold. Or alternatively, Kit is so passive that it only took around 30 sessions to make his entire life revolve around Surge.

@DrWaffles As I understand it, sort of, but not really. They break free of Starline's control, but the brainwashing is still very much there. Their personalities are still the ones Starline programmed into them, and although they've changed their goals somewhat, they still can't shake the wants that Starline put into them.

As someone who finds Starline sexy as fuck and was thrilled at his hypno powers, I'm so glad you posted this. I don't understand why he doesn't get more love either
