...What food could they find?

They lack the brainpower to handle anything that needs to be so munched as microwaved

The only thing they needs is find the place where the food is stored and just pick them with their mouths. Of course they won't be cooking stuff or something like that xD.

For example I have cookies on a shelf at ground level, but they can find food on the table, fridge, kitchen, etc.

Obviously but Im wondering how much and what kind of food it would be.

They could probably get the bread and non-perishables from the pantry relatively easily.

But the only things I can think of in the fridge would be stuff like cold pizza, leftovers, and fruit.

And all of this ignores how the hell they would get the door for the pantry/fridge open.

I am probably way overthinking this.

@AnonymousBrainwash oh that, some basic food they could eat, they were alone in the house as a dog/cat in a relatively short period of time, so stuff like breads, cookies, foods you can leave on a table, fruits, were enough for them.

Also, Shere was ready to reward her pet with some food because of being a good girl, so she let food out of the fridge pre-accident xD.

I imagine them able to tear open wrappers to get the food using their teeth
