I suspect the nursing part of it has more to do with their former profession than anything else.

Most of these transformations are ironic in some way (going from killing monsters to healing them).

Also, I assume "Bloodhunter" profession is similar to the stereotypical Van Helsing type. Monster hunters like that need a firm grasp of monster anatomy and physiology to compensate for the difference in their physical abilities.

A Physician/Nurse for monsters would need similar knowledge, but use it in the opposite way
