As Ami tries to remember where the arcade was, she mentions a new toy store that was also close by. Upon hearing this, Usagi demands Ami to tell her where it is, even shaking her friend making her dizzy. Ami recites the directions as her eyes swirl with dizziness. Of course, Ami wants to call the others for backup just in case. Usagi predictably runs off like her namesake with Ami shouting at her to wait. A pretty clich way to separate the pair but it works for the story with Usagi's over-eagerness getting the better of her.
I really love how this page came out. Ami and Usagi's interaction with each other are great and I love Ami having swirly eyes due to dizziness after Usagi shakes her.
Most will ask why wasn't this told in Ami's flashback chapter? That's the thing with prequels. That's the trouble with prequels. When you do a prequel, even a small segment like this can contradict what came before. Luckily, I have a plan for a future Chapter that will explain that the store's lure spell as well as meeting David and their connection caused her to forget about her friend. Weather I'll do this at the end of the three chapters of Crystal Castle or at the beginning of the next Club Spiral Chapter that leads up to Ami, 18, and Asuka having some girl time.
What do you think? Should I keep this with just Usagi, Twilight, and Lum or make a special side chapter that explains how Ami could forget about Usagi being the one to get them to where they are now by her insistence on finding the Arcade?
