I just beat this game last night, and now knowing the plot and seeing this part near the end, I had to strike while the iron is still hot!

I've never understood why corporations would develop MC stuff to just sell something... why not just make people give you money? Why not eliminate the concept of money entirely and just own everything? Why not do *anything* else? Selling stuff seems really short-sighted and shallow.

I wish Hi-Fi Rush would get more fanart in general not just for the hub. It's a pretty good series both the narrative, characters and gameplay mechanics. And unlike Kratos and his "boi" in his hack n' slash games, the main character Chai can actually jump lol.

Because @bullet, corporations need to at least keep up a veneer of legitimacy.

It also helps that selling things is a really good vector for mind control.

Its an interaction between parties that is normal.

If the corporations just stole peoples money, that would be super suspicious.

The only organizations that can get away with people donating to them, are churches and charities, and even then, people still tend to be a little suspicious because of how many churches and charities are fraudulent.
