Since exhentai's catalogue is the most complete, and it offers the full resolution images. Scraper websites like nhentai tend to offer downscaled images, which are fine for browsing, but bad for downloading/distributing to other sites.

To be fair, exhentai used to be harder to access, and some people may not have tried to access it again since it got easier. Not sure when it changed exactly but I remember way back in the day the sad panda page would give you a cookie to make even the correct steps to access the site not work anymore until you removed it.
