As pulled from Dewar's succubus series, "It feels real, therefore it is real." I think regardless of the guys intentions it seems like she is in a much better place than what she was currently experiencing, so id say its moreso wholesome than malicious

A possible interpretation: she was better before, but the guy did some memory editing to make her think she is better now, to have less risk of resistance down the road.

I figured it was probably along those lines from the start, and that't how I read it for the first time as well.

But I came up with the alternative dark reading because the text is open enough to allow it and because I enjoy obnoxiously finding exceptions to absolute sentences like "regardless of the guy's intentions it seems like she is in a much better place []".

Well, the more interpretations the better, I guess. Pick and choose. In any case, nice work as always!
