That "retain EXP and start again" feature is a great anti-frustration-feature. It would be a good way to grind and break the game, fight through the chapter, fling Alear at the boss without the right equipment, Game Over, restart with almost all the EXP from the chapter.

I'm mixed on this because in the context of the final chapter it makes no sense that Sombron would do this. That being said, it's soo fucking dark.

Mainly because the Veyle we see at the end isn't the evil veyle we saw throughout the story, IT IS VEYLE. She has pink eyes unlike the evil veyle that had red eyes. This along with Veyle looking older implies that Alears been asleep probably for another 1k years.

Then you have that creepy ass smile from Veyle and the I must scream moment from Alear... Jesus christ it feels like it's an ending out of Haunting Grounds or Silent Hill
