From memory, hit the drop-down arrow next to pools at the top there to create a new pool, and then one it's set up go to each image's page and hit "add to pool" on the left-hand side there.

But that's for pools. There is only two images you want linked, right? In such a case, it's best to just make the image with the text the parent image of the image without the text. To do that, find the parent image's ID number (the number in the url when viewing that image) and copy-paste that into the "Parent" text box of the child post's "edit" area (where the tags box is).
