I remember watching the EN dub recently for panel research and oof it was not great.

The fact that Louise's EN actress went on to bigger and better things is nothing short of Miraculous ;)

this was actually one of my first animes I watched back in 2008. My first isekai anime in fact. Its quite special to me. Its like Harry Potter in a way.

But the quality of the story and pacing just declined after season 1. Theres 4 seasons. The 4th was just to close the book on it though and sort of improvise and salvage what you could because the main story never finished due to the author passing away
