Even the British don't use shillings anymore. However, that's what the "10/6" on all of the Hatter's mind-control cards means. They're made to look like old-fashioned price tags. Price of a new hat, 10 shillings and 6 pence. For the curious, 1 shilling = 12 pennies. Pence being an old word for penny.

Of course, that would be 1865 money. Converting into today's money that would be equal to $109.26 American dollars.

Yeah, that was the big thing with me. I know the villains usually make batman's life easier by their quirks, but using shillings in Gotham?

Oh sweet! That means the shilling I have is worth quite a bit.

Umm.. no. What I meant was that the spending power of 10 shilling and 6 pence in the 19th century would be the equivalent of the spending power of $109.26 American today. I have no idea how much an old shilling coin is worth to collectors.
