Well, Miss Lofty. As I am sure you now know there are countless permutations of nerd out there. Existing enlightened ponies and those like you and your wife who took well to the process tend to have a wide array of tastes. This is something the absurd fashion industry which existed before our Lady took over attempted to claim they represented. Diversity and inclusivity.

We now know that to be a very harmful lie.

Part of it is that the more jock-ish or generally anti-intellectual ponies who were not quickly captured ended up going to ground. A happy accident as many of them are now quite fine sport for those looking to personally break something so anathema to the new order. Some fashion ponies were among the wealthy who have managed to escape for now and go underground thanks to offering up enough bits to bribe those not sufficiently dedicated to Equesteria's changes.But the rest simply lacked the skills or resolve needed to get away. Thus also showing they would be poor sport anyways.
