Huh... Here's the strange part. They already WERE parent/child posts. For whatever reason, this image refused to show the popup explaining that it has a child post. I had to make THIS image a child post to another image and then unparent it to force it to show that it has a child post.
Other posts, both newer and older than this, seem to be working fine. How strange.
Edit: How strange! I found out what happened. Turns out, if you enter a parent image ID while uploading the new child image, it causes this bug. I'll go write up a bug report.
