This is an urgent announcement. May We Please Have Your Attention.

A rogue Willbreaker Mech Model BNY-1 was spotted roaming the east road out of Masilaw. If you see a burning red beam of light in the distance, please turn around and avoid getting caught in its gaze.

This specific model of Willbreaker mech was one of the first designed for military use but was since discontinued due to an unexpected design flaw. The mech would drain its pilot's mental faculties over time until it reduced them into a drooling mess over multiple deployments. This effect wasn't permanent but went unnoticed for a good stretch of time.

Even stranger, the mechs had no reduction in effectiveness during this period, regardless of whether the pilot could even count to ten anymore. Performance actually improved the longer the pilot was seated in the cockpit and continued to improve after replacing the pilot.

This model was equipped with a military-grade Hypnotic Engine designed to produce an incapacitating beam of light that would silence the mind of anyone caught in the beam. Quite potent and long-lasting the longer you stayed in its gaze. Though being an early model it did not come with a dedicated operating system, so a pilot is required for it to function.

Which creates a mystery as to how this one is still running. Multiple people have gone missing in the area in which it is roaming, the few recovered seem to be suffering from rapid intelligence drain similar to what happened to early mech pilots.

The east road out of Masilaw will be closed for the time being, Team Spiral has been dispatched to deal with the hazard.
