Got oddly invested in seeing context of this and heres what I found:
- previous Saintess of the church bearded man runs died and the church is trying to select a new saintess
- white haired girl showed signs of having magic healing power and this church wants her to be a saintess candidate
- white haired girl doesnt really want to, at which point this scene happens.
- beginning of next chapter starts with white haired girl obediently acting as a proper saintess candidate and includes her and other candidates drinking a strange drink while smelling the incense shown on this page.
- eventually someone infiltrates and snaps her out of her trance and the rest of the volume seems to be about her pretending to still be under so she can infiltrate and defeat bearded man.

Could be wrong on some of this as I do not speak Japanese for ch 41 (I did find ch 40 in a language I know though)

Should also mention that other than this scene theres no real induction scenes or scenes where people have a visible marker of being tranced as far as I could tell
