Nestled into a sleepy commercial district, Hoofspin Records was owned and operated by the well-known Halfstep Night Breeze. It had launched to a slow start, but over time the unique selection, carefully curated, had caught the ear of those who stepped inside. The owners cheerful, friendly cool, professional attitude had helped seal the deal, and Hoofspin now enjoyed a small but loyal group of regulars. More aggressive marketing could easily have expanded things of course, but Halfstep Night Breeze enjoyed the smaller, cozy feel. It was exactly what he had hoped for.

Sometimes a customer would get confused, remembering things that had never been. But soon the music drifting from the shops speakers would find them, and with a gentle tug everything would make sense again.
