OKAY, I tried out this masking thing that everyone recommended. ....and like an inexperienced nub who just found out about special effects, I overloaded the pic with them in the process.

Thoughts? Concerns? Criticism?

Re-uploaded after deleting some background that I failed to delete before.

I would've included the sclera shadows on the top part of the iris, but that's stylistic and this is fine if you want it to look "off" like it's supernatural.

Getting good-looking masks gets easier with practice, but fortunately that's easy because you can keep fine-tuning forever.

I like it. The only thing I would take out would be the negative on the left. I've just never been much of a fan of negatives and something about them just throws me off. Otherwise it's amazing.

Oh yeah, I should've done that. The eyes seemed a bit too bland for me.

I just put that in because the left side was too empty compared to all the other effects on the picture (and playing with masks.) So I probably won't be doing that anymore xD
1
