First manip I did, figured I should start uploading some of my work if I want to get some feedback. Apologies in advance for any tag hiccups or other what-have-yous I mess up on.

I'm no expert, but definitely increase transparency on your GIFs. As they are, they kind of obscure the faces too heavily, and make their own outlines too obvious.

Agreed. This was the first one I made, and I hadn't figured out how to properly use the fade to transparent function in gimp, along with a whole host of other things.

For a first manip the is pretty impressive ground to be tackling. However what I would suggest is reduce the opacity of the spirals, take a low opacity soft eraser brush to the spiral edges, and apply just a few pixels of gaussian blur to them.

Haha, I believe it was your post on there that got me started. Thanks so much for that :) Poured over that for hours learning the basics, it really made it easy and I couldn't have done anything without it.

At this point, I'm probably not going to be coming back to these manips for a while, so I can let some experience sink in and then take another good whack at it.

It's a good start, especially jumping right into gifs. And I'm glad you found it helpful!
